the worry fact

today being friday, during the weekly pooja at the office, one of my dear colleagues observed that i was lost in thoughts and worrying a bit.  by that time another colleague also pointed out the same thing.  as pooja and arti were going on, i told them i will let them know after the event.

pooja was over.  delicious laddoos were served as 'prasad'.  i almost grabbed and gulped down one full laddoo.  then caring colleagues asked reg my problem during pooja.

you all know i am a decent guy.  {'sharafat ki murti'?}.  had to tell them the fact and told.  'i found only twenty laddoos in the box but we were twenty five.  i was worried who are those five who would miss laddoos'.

i still do not understand why both of them gave me such queer looks, was i wrong??

kudos to khalil gibran

recently a learned colleague whoz a connoisseur of fine things sms ed me

a khalil gibran creation.

i loved the thought flow and for the benefit of everyone publishing here.

your children are not your children
they are sons and daughters of life's longing for itself
they came through you but not from you
though theyw are ith you yet they belong not to you
you may give them your love but not your thoughts,
for othey have their wn thoughts
you may house their bodies but not their souls,
for their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you can visit, not even in your dreams.
you may strive to be like them but seek not to make
them like you, for life goes not backward nor tarries with
yesterday
you are the bows from which your children as
living arrows are sent forth
let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness
for even as He loves the arrow that flies, so
he loves also the bow that is stable

feel like reading khalil gibran in full??

life expectancy

during lunch hour ranting, a topic came up this day.

one colleague said 'life expectancy increases if watching TV is reduced'
offcourse, known thing!!

but other colleague quipped, that was better i felt.
'that would (reducing TV watching) increase the life expectancy of the TV too'
right no?

happy independence day

every year, as the evenings of the 14th august start, joy sweeps the nation across. jubiliation roars everywhere.  SMSes make all india tour and visit almost every country of the world.  the joy, jubiliation, patriotism everything gets rising like the crest point of a sine wave.  not just becoz., the next day would be a holiday but becoz the next day is also 15th august, the day of independence.

but once after the noon of 15th august arrives or just a bit later, what happens to the joy, jubiliation, patriotism etc etc.  everything goes down so as to meet the trough point of a sine curve.  why so?? should it not continue?? or all our feelings are symbolic and only for a specific point of time?  i feel its high time there is an introspection.  and offcourse, the introspection is not just for the masses like us but for each and every individual.

then what is the right way to respect our mother land/our country-infact the shelter house for all of us.  i think there are many ways.  renowned brazilian writer paulo coelho says in one of his books 'every one though that the sins made  by him are very small and would not put the world in danger and continued making sins.  finally, the sins contributed by the entire mankind became so much becoz everyone had contributed'.  so, each one of us would be able to find the right way.  may be it needs little thinking, little sacrifice, little compromise of ego, little more hardwork etc.  letz see them once.

how to we treat water?  do we use it cautiously?  is there a way we save some water??
how often we add plastic waste to the environment??  can we go for safer options which are neither costly also?
how much paper we waste? can we thrive on little lesser??
how much cyber waste we are producing? can we use only for genuine needs?
(our dear mrs kiran bedi ji told in an interview: 'my expenses are strictly utilitarian and zero wastage based'), can we get a lesson here?
do we a philosophy of wealth sharing with those underpriviledged children of God (our underprivileged cousins, infact)
can we ensure atleast one good work a day (offcourse without any self interest)?
can we ensure the hearty smile of an individual every day becoming the cause for that?
the english movie title 'pay it forward', does it tell us something which we have to do??
and so on ..........................

may be a sincere adaptation of these small principles in to our lives would make life more interesting for us, others and finally for the country also becoz a happy country is nothing but a collection of happy individuals.

isn't it that the independence day in such a scenario would be more sweet???

just like that!

india has lost a test series against england just recently and suggestions are pouring from every nook and corner of the world what dhoni should have done, what stroke laxman should not have played, at what angle sehwag should have lowered the bat so he could have been safe, at what pace sachin should have run to avoid run out etc etc etc and what not.

they were the same people who told the india team was the best and no one could even be a near match to them when the team lifted the world cup in glory at mumbai a few months ago.

with due respects to such friends of ours who know cricket better than dhoni, dravid, sachin, laxman etc letz think in unison about loving the game of cricket than loving an individual cricketer.  a beautiful cover drive is a beautiful cover drive!! what if it is from the blade of KP or our own maestro SACHIN or GRAEME SMITH.  best catch is a best catch irrespective of the catcher and so on.  so, how about having the philosophy, the best team wins in the end!!

notwithstanding all these, it is more than obvious that a true champion/champion team will win irrespective of all odds like toss, injuries, bad pitch etc.  previously two teams displayed that character, the then mightly WI in seventies and a portion of eighties; the formidable australians from the last half of last decade of last century till first half of the first decade of this century.  letz hope the indian team which has all the ingredients to become a real champion team will raise to that level.

wishing every one a happy independence day.

Bank Loans and God’s people, amazingly similar, how??

Bank Loans and God’s people, amazingly similar, how??

Here it is!!

Concept
Bank’s perspective
God’s perspective
Assets
Loans
People
Most important thing about an asset
Health of the asset
Health of the person both body/mind
Comments
Some assets will be performing assets through out and never cause problems
Some people will be healthy through out their life and will never have a problem
Some cases
Mismanagement of funds, diversion, avariciousness, casualness about business, excessive commitments
Atyachar on own body, using it without care or overusing or underusing.  Overeating, No exercise, Lethargy, unable to keep mind healthy and clean
In some other cases
Unforeseen happens, insurance gets settled but unit/firm may be lost
Unforeseen happens, persons quits the world.  Insurance comes to family but person’s gone
Early Warning Signals (ref to some cases above)
LC devolvement, Chq returns, inability to meet payments, Non payment of interest/instalment etc
Early exhaustion, signs of BP, signs of diabetes, frequent weakness etc
What is to be done
Immediate remedial action
Immediate care of health
What happens if not done
Account turns NPA
Person becomes unfit even for routine
What happens then
Account goes to Court, undue tension, undue expenses etc
Persons end up paying hospitals, doctors etc.
Some times
Account gets back in to shape, becomes okay
Some persons lucky enough to become fit again and live happily
Majority of the times
Account will not get back in to shape.  It will be a story of good money on bad money
Health further deteriorates taking persons to a point of no return
What stake holders do finally
Bank writes it off
God writes him off from his books
What after that
Almost nothings left, usually only the blame games and bad memories.  Also teaches a lesson for future, (if the onlooker wants to learn)
The person is lost forever.  People around keep on blaming him and family members for not taking care.  Lessons for other how not to live life (if only they want to learn)
Finally, the message
Follow up your assets from day one, think before an exposure, follow the fundas, keep the asset a performing asset for ever.  That will take care of everything else.  A weak loan/bank could never become a model for others.
Take care of your mind and body.  Becoz, they are the only two important things for a good living.  Do the right things only.  Be happy, give happiness to all.  A sorrowful could never give happiness to others.

Improvements welcome.

just thinking

at saloon today this flashed to me

u call the saloon guy, go to him at the set time, get the services; i.e., planned execution
u just go to saloon without an appointment, u r the lone customer, u get your services, i.e., luck
u just go to saloon without an appointment, u r the lone customer, but power fails or mirror cracks, u dont get services on time, i.e., badluck
u just go to saloon without an appointment, a number of customers there, u sit and start waiting for your chance, i.e., resigned to fate

now letz apply this to all our actions in life
are v going by planned execution or fate/luck deciding our path??
