happy independence day

every year, as the evenings of the 14th august start, joy sweeps the nation across. jubiliation roars everywhere.  SMSes make all india tour and visit almost every country of the world.  the joy, jubiliation, patriotism everything gets rising like the crest point of a sine wave.  not just becoz., the next day would be a holiday but becoz the next day is also 15th august, the day of independence.

but once after the noon of 15th august arrives or just a bit later, what happens to the joy, jubiliation, patriotism etc etc.  everything goes down so as to meet the trough point of a sine curve.  why so?? should it not continue?? or all our feelings are symbolic and only for a specific point of time?  i feel its high time there is an introspection.  and offcourse, the introspection is not just for the masses like us but for each and every individual.

then what is the right way to respect our mother land/our country-infact the shelter house for all of us.  i think there are many ways.  renowned brazilian writer paulo coelho says in one of his books 'every one though that the sins made  by him are very small and would not put the world in danger and continued making sins.  finally, the sins contributed by the entire mankind became so much becoz everyone had contributed'.  so, each one of us would be able to find the right way.  may be it needs little thinking, little sacrifice, little compromise of ego, little more hardwork etc.  letz see them once.

how to we treat water?  do we use it cautiously?  is there a way we save some water??
how often we add plastic waste to the environment??  can we go for safer options which are neither costly also?
how much paper we waste? can we thrive on little lesser??
how much cyber waste we are producing? can we use only for genuine needs?
(our dear mrs kiran bedi ji told in an interview: 'my expenses are strictly utilitarian and zero wastage based'), can we get a lesson here?
do we a philosophy of wealth sharing with those underpriviledged children of God (our underprivileged cousins, infact)
can we ensure atleast one good work a day (offcourse without any self interest)?
can we ensure the hearty smile of an individual every day becoming the cause for that?
the english movie title 'pay it forward', does it tell us something which we have to do??
and so on ..........................

may be a sincere adaptation of these small principles in to our lives would make life more interesting for us, others and finally for the country also becoz a happy country is nothing but a collection of happy individuals.

isn't it that the independence day in such a scenario would be more sweet???
