india has lost a test series against england just recently and suggestions are pouring from every nook and corner of the world what dhoni should have done, what stroke laxman should not have played, at what angle sehwag should have lowered the bat so he could have been safe, at what pace sachin should have run to avoid run out etc etc etc and what not.
they were the same people who told the india team was the best and no one could even be a near match to them when the team lifted the world cup in glory at mumbai a few months ago.
with due respects to such friends of ours who know cricket better than dhoni, dravid, sachin, laxman etc letz think in unison about loving the game of cricket than loving an individual cricketer. a beautiful cover drive is a beautiful cover drive!! what if it is from the blade of KP or our own maestro SACHIN or GRAEME SMITH. best catch is a best catch irrespective of the catcher and so on. so, how about having the philosophy, the best team wins in the end!!
notwithstanding all these, it is more than obvious that a true champion/champion team will win irrespective of all odds like toss, injuries, bad pitch etc. previously two teams displayed that character, the then mightly WI in seventies and a portion of eighties; the formidable australians from the last half of last decade of last century till first half of the first decade of this century. letz hope the indian team which has all the ingredients to become a real champion team will raise to that level.
wishing every one a happy independence day.
